Before your trip:
- Plan Ahead: Fully plan your trip in advance to help you choose the right route.
- Set a Goal and Compare Tickets: Decide your trip’s purpose and compare ticket prices based on seating preferences. Business class may be ideal for longer journeys if you plan to relax, enjoy your time, or finish work on the train.
- Print Your Tickets: Ensure all the information provided is correct and have all your personal identification papers with you.
- Pack Early: Pack your baggage early and avoid including unnecessary items to reduce extra weight.
- Arrive Early: Get to the station early to avoid being late. Arriving well before departure time gives you peace of mind and allows you to enjoy station services.
- Entertain Children: If traveling with children, bring quiet games to keep them entertained.
- Check Baggage Size: Ensure your baggage meets size requirements. If there’s not enough overhead space, place large items in the back of the train compartment. This can be challenging during peak seasons due to the high number of passengers and baggage.
- Tag Your Luggage: Label your luggage with your name and contact information for easy identification if it gets lost.
At the Station:
- Check Your Ticket: Verify your ticket details to board the correct train at the right time.
- Cafeteria Services: A cafeteria is available throughout your journey, so consider bringing only light food items.
- Special Assistance: Bring your Disability ID card if you need special assistance.
- Wheelchair Service: The wheelchair service can also be used if you are tired and prefer not to walk.
Onboard the Train:
- Boarding: Arrive on time at the platforms to board the train promptly, as boarding time is short and specific.
- Seat and Coach Numbers: Your coach and seat numbers are on your ticket. Don’t hesitate to ask the staff for help if you’re unsure of your location.
- Overhead Shelves: Use the overhead shelves for handbags, but remember that you are responsible for your valuables. HHR is not liable for any damage or belongings left behind.
- Supervise Children: Keep children under supervision at all times. Ensure they stay in their seats, avoid walking in the corridors, and refrain from making noise to ensure a comfortable travel experience for everyone.
- Monitor Screens: Watch the screens on the train that display the route, trip time, and upcoming stations. Be prepared to disembark when you arrive at your destination.
